Shaghayegh (Sherry) Sahebi (PhD '16)

sherry sahebi What was your favorite memory from your time in the Intelligent Systems Program?

ISP is full of good memories for me. I always felt at home, supported by a kind, warm, and welcoming group of people. The game nights, white elephant parties, picnics, birthday celebrations, and watching the IBM Watson-Jeopardy challenge were all fun and memorable. One of my favorites is teaming up to do the 5K Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure back in 2015 in Schenley park. I still have the T-shirt and wear it sometimes.

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment?

Being awarded with NSF CAREER Award for the project "CAREER: Time-Aware Multi-Objective Recommendation in Online Learning Environments" in 2021.

What are your hobbies?

Reading books and listening to audiobooks, traveling, and baking.

What advice would you give to current ISP students?

Cherish the friendships you make during your time at ISP and make the most of the unique interdisciplinary opportunities there. Also, don't skip the vegetarian eggplant sandwich in ISP lunches if it's still there. It's absolutely delicious!
